Breadedescalope's Grow to go Flowershop

Environment related concepts and designs are Design Dummy's favorites. So we will be nice...
Breadedescalope's Grow to go have given a new identity to flower shops.
Currently being presented at the Vienna Design Week 2009, "Grow to Go" reinvents the flower shop concept based on consumer behaviour and idea of convenience. Imagine buying seedlings would be like buying cheeseburger from McDonalds.

Not sure if these are soil or fertilizers being scooped like ice cream. If the latter, scooping would never be funkier.

Nature goes commercial...goodies on display

Surely, Greenpeace and vegetarians will feast.

Yu-Hun Kim's Tray

If you find eating wasting your reading time to be more intelligent than others, then you've got to get this tray...

... designed by Yu-Hun Kim.

It is cool, but wont the food be just nuissance in your reading? Is this designed for just cookies?

Honestly, I don't need this. Cookie crumbs can be book markers.

Revenge of the Clones

They are huge, translucent and square!...
Modernist boxes are taking over the world with pure fury and no remorse. In Ireland Terry Pawson unleashed its complex of boxes in Ireland called VISUAL & the George Bernard Shaw Theatre (above image).

In 2007, Steven Holl created havoc of boxes over Kansas' landscape with its Nelson-Atkins Museum (above image).

And soon, the world will have a taste of David Chippefield's box architecture fierceness with its Kunsthaus in Switzerland (above image).
Who is to blame for these box architecture invasion? Probably Gigon Guyer who quietly released its box massing powers in Swtizerland with its Kirchner Museum in 1992. Who is next to show its box making abilities?.... Don't forget to make it glow at night!

Lego Gaga gone

This can be my profile photo. It fits this site very much. The guy above is toy fanatic, James May who will now give 3.3 Million pieces of lego bricks to charity...

...after the demolition of his life-size lego house in Surrey. It was built one month ago, the owner thought somebody would show interest in buying this project.

Albeit its inspiring feats, nobody did.

Legoland planned to move it to their theme park, but the transportation cost was too pricey.

It was questioned for its environmental unfriendliness. It was said that the pieces of legos were donated by different individuals, so there was recycling. But now that it is being dismantled...

It can be recycled again properly by toyless children, as toys not as house bricks.

Come to think of it, why would one live in it? there are no windows?

It is just a colorful boring modernist box, how can kids like it?...And they don't have money.

Duh!?

SMIK's Batman and Robin

Which one is Batman and which is Robin?

Is Batman the stout one?
Designed by Zmik, the shimmer of the lamps has its stealth like quality that makes it interesting.

If these were Batman and Robin's skirts, this will be a disturbing design.

They look gorgeous in a dark room.

When lit upfront, they look like folded aluminum. Those edges can hurt, if it falls you on you, you are dead.

Wife of Brian (Who is Brian anyway?)

I don't know what to say....
These knitted beards, are these supposed to humor us? Aint sure
But when you visit the designer's website, it leaves something good to people in general who actually get it...a smile. I am not sure if the Wife of Brian is another girl or this cute girl who just smelled f*rt.
